1. Who these terms are between

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you — the parent or legal guardian ("you", "Parent") — and CodeQuest Ltd ("CodeQuest", "we", "us"). By creating an account you confirm you are at least 18 years old.

2. The service

CodeQuest is an online coding education platform for children aged 7–13. It provides interactive coding missions (block-based and text-based), AI-powered learning hints, progress tracking and a parent dashboard, and a leaderboard based on XP earned.

3. Accounts and parental responsibility

• You must create a parent account before creating any child profile
• You are responsible for all activity on child profiles you create
• You must ensure your child uses CodeQuest appropriately and safely
• You must keep your login credentials secure and not share them
• Notify us immediately at security@codequest.app if you suspect unauthorised access

4. Subscriptions and free trial

Free trial: New accounts receive a 14-day free trial. No charge is made during the trial period. A valid payment method is required to start a trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged.

Billing: After the trial, your chosen subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled. Prices are shown in your local currency.

Cancellation: Cancel at any time through your account dashboard or by contacting support@codequest.app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Refunds: If charged in error, contact us within 14 days for a full refund. UK customers have a 14-day cooling-off period from first purchase (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013).

Price changes: At least 30 days' notice will be given by email before price increases.

5. Acceptable use

You and your child must not:

• Share login credentials with anyone outside your immediate household
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or extract any part of the platform
• Use the platform for any commercial purpose without written consent
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Submit any false, misleading, or harmful content

6. Intellectual property

All content on CodeQuest — including missions, characters, code, graphics, the AI system, and branding — is owned by CodeQuest Ltd and protected by copyright. Your child's completed projects and code written during missions remain theirs. We do not claim ownership of code your child writes.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

CodeQuest is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that the platform will be error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Governing law

• Nigeria: Nigerian law
• United Kingdom: English law; exclusive jurisdiction of English courts
• Canada: Laws of Ontario, Canada
• United States: Laws of Delaware; binding arbitration under AAA rules
• All other countries: English law applies

9. Changes to these Terms

We will notify you by email at least 30 days before making material changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
